Seasonal Engineering Aide/Technician
Otter Tail County is accepting applications for to fill Seasonal Engineering Aide or Seasonal Engineering Technician positions.
Seasonal Engineering Aide: The purpose of this position is to aid in highway surveying as well as perform other tasks.
Seasonal Engineering Technician: The purpose of this position is to design, survey and inspect road construction sites/projects.
Applications must be submitted by April 14, 2026 at 4:30pm to be considered for this position. The tentative interview date is Monday April 20, 2026.- Assist in surveying and staking construction sites and preliminary highway projects.
- Slope staking, blue topping, bridge soundings, and right of way markers.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by survey crew chief.
- Complies with county safety program.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Must have the ability to follow directions and work well with others.
- Must follow rules and policies.
- Inspect and coordinate construction projects.
- Maintain construction forms, project status reports and daily construction quantities.
- Assist with bridge safety inspections.
- Assist with computations of quantities and assists with basic design principles.
- Collect and test construction project samples as directed.
- Complies with county safety program.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Must have the ability to follow directions and work well with others.
- Must follow rules and policies.
Seasonal Engineering Aide Position
Must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license
Seasonal Engineering Technician I Position
Must have an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or 1-3 years of civil engineering technician experience and a valid driver's license.
Seasonal Engineering Aides and Seasonal Engineering Technicians typically work 40 hours per week during the summer months. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation depends on qualifications:
- Seasonal Engineering Aides: $19.67 per hour
- Seasonal Engineering Technician I: $27.42 per hour
The selection process will include an online employment application and supplemental questionnaire. Semi-finalist will be invited to interview.
